Finnish comics artist Kati Kovacs and Estonian animation director Mait Laas will discuss how similar or different ways of thinking in comics and in animation can be. The authors will describe their lively collaboration in creating the work-in-progress animated stop-motion feature An Opera of Forgotten Stories: A Rapid Love Story of Lisa Limone and Maroc Orange. The adventurous animation, full of music and humour, consists of allegorical stories of illegal boat refugees and the bittersweet love story of an Orange boy and a Lemon girl. The idea, parts of the script and the design were created by Kovacs and the film will be directed by Laas. The 65-minute feature animation will be released by Nukufilm studio in 2012.
